What I liked most throughout these chapters on the Learning Music website were learning about the different sounds that make up a beat, the major and minor triads, and creating melodies.

When going through the Beats chapter, I was able to see how beats are broken down and what the specific sounds were that composed a beat. I’ve known what each sound was for the most part, but to actually see and hear what each of them were was a great thing to learn! When going through the Chords chapter, I was able to learn about major and minor triads and the difference between the two. How the major triads are more of an “uplifting” sound and the minor triads are the darker, more “sad” sounds. This was very interesting to learn because I do want to know how to play the piano one day. Lastly, in the Melodies chapter, I was able to learn about melodies and how those are composed and even got to make some of my own! This was really cool because I write my own music and love coming up with my own melodies, singing wise, so it was cool to play around with them musically!
